I admit I am helplessly mesmerized by a cute heel. Pumps, booties, and pointed heels are some of my favorites. When a lady wears a classy heeled shoe, she makes a statement of her femininity. I am not picturing a fragile teacup kind of female but a strong woman who loves being a lady. 

 

However, the reality is my average day is not a fancy shoe kind of event. Often you will find me wearing worn-out tennis shoes or tattered flip-flops as I struggle to get the laundry washed and dinner on my sticky kitchen table. I am a hot mess, and I am fully aware of my need for the Savior. This need has driven me to the feet of Jesus Christ. I found life and power as I lingered in His presence. At His feet is where this girl chooses to be. 

 

There is a woman in the Bible named Mary who felt the same way. (Luke 10:39-42) She, too, sat at the feet of Jesus. Mary found her strength and power in the Lord. She understood her intimacy with Him is the best relationship a female can possess. It is the same for you and me. As I sit with my Lord, I have found a priceless gift. With Him, I find direction for this tattered soul. I don't have the answers, but I am abiding with the One who does.
