The struggle is real in marriage; however, so is the power of our Lord! I believe one of the secrets to a healthy marriage is a healthy prayer life.

Prayer:
Father, fill (spouse’s name) with love for You, that he/she would ‘love You with all his/her heart and with all his/her soul’ and ‘with all his/her mind.’

Cause him/her to delight in Your Word.

Give (spouse’s name) Your perfect understanding.

Allow (spouse’s name) to lean hard into You during trials for Psalm 46:1 (ESV) reads ‘God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.’
Empower him/her to run every day with endurance.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Equip (spouse’s name) with strength and wisdom so he/she would remain strong and courageous and that he/she may be successful wherever he/she goes.

Enable him/her to be ‘quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger.

Father, I pray that you keep him/her sexually pure in mind, soul and body.

Give him/her friendships with godly individuals that would encourage (spouse’s name) and hold him/her accountable.
“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” Hebrews 10:24-25 (ESV)
Let Your favor rest upon him/her, and establish the work of his/her hands.
Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands! Psalm 90:17 (ESV)
We continue to believe for ‘He who began a good work in my (spouse’s name) will complete it.’
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6 (ESV)
