A Purpose-Filled Life :)

Do you want to live a purpose-filled life? Me too!

Do you desire your life to matter? Do you hope to leave a legacy for generations to come? Me too! A purpose-filled life requires purposeful living. Intentionality is key. The secret is keeping our eyes on the right person. This is a lesson I am learning again and again. .

Here are a few tips that help me strive towards living a life that matters.

  1. I rest in the fact that my relationship with God is enough. I want to keep my eyes on Him. I do not need to accomplish, nor should I want to achieve anything for my kingdom; it is Him and Him alone that I must strive to serve -Not the god of me. Easy to say, but often hard to live out. HAHA -

  2. I must live with a purpose bigger than myself, or I will live to serve only myself. A self-centered life births limitations and loneliness. Yet, living for more than myself brings joyful opportunities and opens doors to new worlds. Tony Evans states, "When you realize God's purpose in your life isn't just about you, He will use you in a mighty way." If we want to live a purpose-filled life, we must live with a purpose bigger than self.

  3. When tempted to quit, learn to rest instead.  Often, I am tempted to try to accomplish more than possible, inviting exhaustion to move in. Exhaustion leads to discouragement. Discouragement can tempt one to walk away from a God-given purpose. When I am tired, everything looks worse than it is. When exhaustion creeps into my day, problems seem more significant than they are. When I want to call it quits, I need to learn to rest instead. Rest brings refreshment and rejuvenation to the heart and soul. Exchange a quitter mentality for a quieter mentality.  Slow down and rest. Enjoy a good night of sleep or a calming hobby. Joy comes in the morning. Psalm 30:5 (NIV) reads, "Weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning." Remember that mercies are new every day. "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end, they are new every morning, great our your faithfulness." Lamentations 3:22-23 (ESV)

"Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourself fully to the work of the Lord because you know that your labor is not in vain." I Corinthians 15:58 (NIV)

Sweet friend, let us live today with intentionality and passion. Let us keep our eyes on the one who matters. Purposeful living fuels a purpose-filled life.

Purposeful living fuels a purpose-filled life.

Blessings!
