Can God's Grace Get Me Through Today's Struggle?

I don't know about you, but life can throw me unexpected and brutal challenges. Busy schedules, sickness, drama, and other difficult days can make me want to park on the couch and stay withdrawn.

How about you?

You may face work or health issues, financial difficulties, or other challenging conditions. I get it! But even in chaos, one thing remains steady—God's grace! His grace has carried me when I have difficulty taking the next step. His grace is strength for our days.

God's grace is often defined as unearned or unmerited favor. Maybe you have heard of the acrostic for Grace as God's Riches At Christ's Expense. Many say that Grace is getting what you do not deserve, while mercy is not getting what you do deserve. Indeed, grace is a gift.

God's grace has many layers. I want to mention two today: Saving Grace and Daily Grace. God gives grace for your salvation and grace for your situation.

God gives grace for your salvation and grace for your situation.

Understanding Saving Grace

I deserve punishment for my sins, but God's grace is a Saving Grace. Romans 3:23 says, 'For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 6:23 states, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Ephesians 2:8 reads, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God." God's grace is a saving grace. See Romans 10:9-10 to see how to receive it!

However, it does not stop here, for God's grace is a Daily grace. He gives grace for my salvation and also provides grace for my daily situations. He gives me grace every single day.

Understanding Daily Grace

While saving grace is vital, daily grace helps us handle life’s everyday challenges. Each new day brings its own difficulties. Grace allows me to keep showing up. God gives grace to overcome challenges, live a righteous life, and fulfill your purpose. Because of what He has done for you and me, we can keep showing up with His inner strength. "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:9

Remember, no matter what you face, it is good to remember what is true. In the words of Mark Batterson from 'The Grave Robber, "God is still sovereign no matter what. He still knows your name. Angels still respond to his call. The hearts of rulers still bend at his bidding. The death of Jesus still saves souls. The Spirit of God still indwells saints. Heaven is still only a heartbeat away. Grace is still temporary housing. God is still faithful. He is not caught off guard. He uses tragedy to accomplish his will, and his will is right, holy, and perfect."

Friend, no matter what dark situation you are in today, remember this quote from Corrie Ten Boom, "There is no pit so deep that God's grace isn't deeper still. His grace will help you get through. In fact, His grace will carry you. Yes, His grace is more than enough for our daily situations.
