Sweetness in the Strawberry Patch

Every year, about this time, my mom and I head to the local strawberry patch.
This year, the weather was incredible, and the berries were refreshing! Mom and I tasted and enjoyed the sweetness of the fruit.

In other years, we have had children or grandchildren who enjoyed the tasty berry and helped us pick. I have fond memories of juice running down my boys' arms as they bit into the red berry. I remember grandgirls visiting the field with us. It has become a summer tradition and treat, for there is nothing like a freshly picked sweet strawberry!

My mind travels from the sweetness of a strawberry to the sweetness of God's Word. Both are a delight to enjoy. Both bring goodness to my day.
Friend, are you enjoying the goodness of the Word today?
God's Word encourages me when I am down, strengthens me when I am weak, and guides me when I need answers. His Word is sweet and delicious!
In Psalm 19:9-10, David says, "The commands to fear the Lord are right and endure forever. The judgments given by the Lord are trustworthy and absolutely just. They are of greater value than gold, than even a great amount of pure gold; they bring greater delight than honey than even the sweetest honey from a honeycomb." (NET)
On this cool, overcast summer day, I plan to sit with the sweetest of God's Word as I enjoy some fresh strawberries. I invite you to do the same.

"Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him." Psalm 34:8
