Unleashing the Power of Silence

In a world full of noise—from social media to fighting traffic—I am learning the power of sitting with silence. Silence is good for my soul. I hear God's voice a little louder and more precise in quiet moments. In this space, my overstimulated self breathes deeper and finds His peace. My soul and mind are quieted.
A popular verse on this theme is Psalm 46:10 which reads "Be still, and know that I am God." This verse encourages a sense of quiet trust. Let's explore it together-
The Hebrew words 'be still' mean "to slacken, let down or cease." In other words, I can stop striving and worrying. I can 'let go and let God' because to "know that I am God" is surrendering to God's control. Here, Scripture is reminding me of God's authority and power. I can trust God's ability to handle my situation. Therefore, I can sit still resting in peace and trust that He has my back. He can handle my situations - my life. I can rest - my mind can rest, in this truth.
As I release control and trust His plan, I unleash His Power in my life. I hear His voice. I embrace His peace. I know Him better. I find rest even in the chaos of this noisy world.
How about you, friend? You have a personal invitation from the King of kings to sit with Him. "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." (Matthew 11:28-30 ESV) Strength comes when sitting in the silence with the Savior.
